Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. Her catalog includes more than twenty albums. DiFranco classifies her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. But it has influences from hip-hop, punk and jazz. A feminist icon widely recognized as Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement, and was among the pioneers to establish her own label 1990. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were each attending.
